Say No to AA for a DUI – Stand up for 1st Amendment Rights

ACLU image

I think its that time of the year where many might find themselves being sent to AA.

Many have no idea that AA is not a government agency. That AA is not regulated by the state. That AA is not safe. That AA is not a drug treatment program . It’s a  group—- a fellowship….lay persons coming together.

So why are our courts sending EVERYONE to AA meetings for any violation and why are the Courts interconnected with rehabs, sober livings that are totally 12 step run. How long has this been going on? Since Drug court began in 1989? No ….it started before that , but when drug courts began it got oh so much worse.

Now in AA, some are there to help. Some are there to harm. Some are there to serve so they can stay “sober” ….AA style….. Some are there to take whatever they can and never give back.

But where’s the warning label for Alcoholic Anonymous? Like Cigarettes…one day an Insider who worked in the industry outed those guys. We think AA needs to be outed for who is there, who is sent there and who goes there to prey on innocent civilians.

Even though there is a “leader” or “secretary” who picks or is picked that day or the week before – they don’t necessarily lead unless its a cult group like the PG group-

Most AA members don’t feel  empowered to really lead for the most part.

When they read the preamble before every meeting — how come they don’t say

” AA is a drug /alcohol treatment program” . ..oh that’s right …That’s because it is not that. So what is AA really? Is it a fellowship? Then how can you get ordered to join a religious organization from a Judge? Is it a religion? TO some it is. It’s religious for sure.

Over 35 Courts have Deemed it so. Is it a Drug Treatment Program? No —-other wise it would need to be regulated by the state. But AA’s rehabs grandfathered themselves in way back when as something called ” NON Medical treatment and they are governed by The Department of Health? How is this going on ? Well it is.

So I guess the next question is how do we undo this. So if it’s not medical treatment how is Insurance paying for it . I mean rehab— 30 K a month- or $1,000 a day paid by Athem Blue Cross for Action Family where no medical anything is occurring…Just being bused to AA meetings. Just attending AA meetings. No doctors, no PhD’s, no groups let by real therapists? And maybe your daughter or son may be bused to a place where all the AA meetings are filled with men like Eric Earle, near trailer parks- connected to the DOC filled with not so wonderful not really AA members. That your Daughter or son may mix and mingle with these kinds of criminals.

We need to educate the public and stop the judges and the ab541 classes from sending people to AA for a DUI offense.

The Guardian and Jon Stewart mention The 13th Step and Monica Richardson in today’s Article

jonstewart

WOW is this a nice surprise. I don’t think I could ask for a nicer present then this one a sleepy, Sunday morning in California.

Jon Stewart,  who was an AA member for 14 years, left AA almost 2 years ago and we began to speak on Skype and through email. I had him on my radio show Blog talk radio Safe recovery , www.blogtalkradio.com/saferecovery and we finally met in person in May when we screened the film in London at The Mayfair  . It was like meeting an old friend from AA  who was now an ex stepper. We had many thoughts in common and some of his experiecne was very different from mine. He still feels AA saved his life and I never felt like that. I feel like I saved my life. But none the less, we agree on 90 % of everything else.

He is a super nice guy with alot of important stuff to say about change around alcohol over use…ect…

Andrew Tatarsky PhD- Gets Interview in Health & Lifestyle – Harm Reduction 30 years of Experience

Great to see more publicity where Andrew Tatarsky gets a nice write up.

Dr. Andrew Tatarsky, PhD, founder and director of the Center for Optimal Living based in New York City, has over 30 years experience in the addiction and mental health field. He tells us why abstinence is not the total solution for problematic behaviors and why we should provide care and proper treatment for patients instead of incarcerating them. Mylene C. Orillo files this report

We all go through life’s difficulties, losses, and challenges, while some people can handle it perfectly well, some turn to alcohol and substance abuse to ease their pain and loneliness and it knows no age and gender.

A 74-year-old man has lost his partner from heart attack a number of years ago. He never remarried but has lost a number of friends to death as well. He retired from a teaching job so there was an accumulation of losses that contributed to his excessive drinking to the point of black out several times a week.

A 19-year-old college student had a very mixed drug use problem with a lot of marijuana, heroin, cocaine, and pills. His drug use had escalated after a staph infection that nearly killed him so he had to leave college. While recuperating, he began using an increasing amount of drugs.

Dr. Andrew Tatarsky, PhD, founder and director of the Center for Optimal Living based in New York City revealed that these are some examples of how their patients cope with loneliness and medical illness.  Read full story here and please share on all blogs and social media and twitter.

Sober Man Kills Three in Colorado Springs- Shoots person out side Sober Living home as well.

colorado Spring

Well its happened.

I was just saying to my husband the other day, that I was concerned this sort of thing would eventually happen. Either in or out side a meeting. This…was out side and he intentionally shot a person out side the sober living home.

Mother of shooter had written about his temper, struggles with sobriety

By Sadie Gurman, The Associated Press Posted: Nov 02, 2015 11:30 PM ETLast Updated: Nov 03, 2015 1:48 AM ET

The man who fatally shot three people during a rampage through the streets of Colorado Springs was a recovering alcoholic who posted an online video two days earlier expressing displeasure with his father for allegedly falling under the sway of a particular preacher — but gave no indication of the violence to come.

Authorities on Monday identified the gunman as 33-year-old Noah Jacob Harpham, who lived just steps from where his first victim was slain on Saturday.

Witnesses said Harpham had a rifle in one hand and a revolver in the other when he first killed a bicyclist. He then calmly walked less than a mile and fatally shot two women on the porch of a sobriety house. Harpham was then killed in a gunbattle with police.

A motive for the downtown shootings in broad daylight was unknown, and Harpham left few clues in blog posts and on social media.

During a visit to his family’s Colorado Springs home years ago, he drank too much, became angry and “exploded,” Kopp said. His mood had become “so toxic it was scary.”

His mother and stepfather urged Harpham to move in with them. In Colorado Springs, she said, he found work as an insurance agent and met with an Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor regularly.

( AA and all its trappings failed this man) Angry already- in an environment where AA members tell each other you cant “afford to get angry” ——“What’s your part in it ” ——-“You need to work a better program “——“you are broken for life”——“only we can help you —–you can’t help yourself on this one buddy ” ——–You need to come to these meetings forever” —-

I believe that not only drugs and drink are killing our youth- its AA and NA. Here’s why …If you are told at a super young age that you are broken forever- you too may say —“fuck it ” why bother—– and shoot that heroin one more time. Only now its too strong so you may take too much.

Another Doctor Forced to attend Alcoholics Anonymous Meeting against his will and in violation of his1 st Amendment Rights

Local News State suspends Iowa optometrist’s license for 30 days October 11, 2015 15:29 CDT CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Iowa will suspend a Cedar Falls’ optometrist’s license for 30 days this fall because his alcohol use violated a previous agreement with regulators. The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1JZt5ig ) the suspension is part of an agreement regulators made with Mark Davis. His suspension will start Oct. 26. The Iowa Board of Optometry says recent tests showed Davis was using alcohol. That violated a 2013 agreement he made after being arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs. Davis will also pay a $250 fine and serve four years of probation and chemical testing. He’ll also have to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

WHY is everyone told they cant drink alcohol as a part of a deal. Don’t they know that prohibition ended in 1933?

Kim Richards Sentenced to 52 Sessions of Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings, Community Labor for Hotel Arrest

I really feel sorry for this lady. I bet she has no idea that there are no such things as AA   “Sessions” I hope she finds out. There are only AA meetings that are run by no one who is trained  and no one will warn her that AA meetings are not safe. That a man there may be a rapist who is getting away with it because of the Anonymity feature.
