  1. But of course, in AA, you aren’t supposed to every have anger. Then of course you do, and all hell breaks loose. This is just so tragic. And Mothers are certainly told that having an infant doesn’t mean they don’t HAVE TO go to meeting after meeting.

    • I heard a mother of a newborn share as I was leaving AA, questioning whether she should leave her baby ay night to go to metings, I was so fed up that I said nothing. If I was there today I would speak up and tell her to stay home and be a mother. FOr GOd Sake she was sober 6 years and had no problems with alcohol anymore. Why is a mother comeing to AA asking a room filled with non mother what she should do regarding parenting?

Honestly over 65 % of the woman in my old home group, as I was leaving, I looked around and noticed that they were NOT MOMS!

  2. This is so tragic. I cannot even imagine what this baby’s family is going through. 🙁

According to the insane BB and 12&12 it says:
-If we were to live, we had to be free of anger.
    -What about “justifiable” anger?
-Nor were we ever skillful in separating justified from unjustified anger.
-His wife is one of those persons who really feels there is something rather sinful about these commodities, so she nagged, and her intolerance finally threw him into a fit of anger.
-Gossip barbed with our anger, a polite form of murder by character assassination, has its satisfactions for us, too.
-Self-righteous anger also can be very enjoyable.
-Everywhere he sees people filled with anger and fear, society breaking up into warring fragments.
-Or anger and hurt pride might be the smoke screen under which we were hiding some of our defects while we blamed others for them.
-Just saying it over and over will often enable us to clear a channel choked up with anger, fear, frustration, or misunderstanding, and permit us to return to the surest help of all — our search for God’s will, not our own, in the moment of stress.
-That is the emotional hangover, the direct result of yesterday’s and sometimes today’s excesses of negative emotion — anger, fear, jealousy, and the like.
-To avoid falling into confusion over the names these defects should be called, let’s take a universally recognized list of major human failings — the Seven Deadly Sins of pride, greed, lust, anger, gluttony, envy, and sloth.
-If our tempers are consistently bad, we arouse anger in others.
-If the pursuit of wealth tramples upon people who happen to be in the way, then anger, jealousy, and revenge are likely to be aroused.
-We have found that justified anger ought to be left to those better qualified to handle it.
-The most common symptoms of emotional insecurity are worry, anger, self-pity, and depression.
-Anger, that occasional luxury of more balanced people, could keep us on an emotional jag indefinitely.
-We had to see that when we harbored grudges and planned revenge for such defeats, we were really beating ourselves with the club of anger we had intended to use on others.
-In some circumstances we have gone out deliberately to get drunk, feeling ourselves justified by nervousness, anger, worry, depression, jealousy or the like.
-We are then in much less danger of excitement, fear, anger, worry, self-pity, or foolish decisions.

Where did that jerk BW get this crap from? Boniface? Oxford Group? A Cracker Jacks box? Insane insane insane.

  3. If you study the oxford movement it really had ties to Hitler and beliefs. The group comes first. The individual doesn’t matter. 35 years infecting and brainwashing 2 generations….

This is very sad. Im sorry for this mother and family and of course the baby. Im glad when I had my children I really stopped going to regular meetings and got into therapy and only went to home meetings with people I knew for almost 6 years. He was born in 1990 just a drug court began in CA and the dumping of DUI’s and criminals really escalated.

  4. When I initially read the title of this post… I just did not want to even read it. I knew it would be horrid. And it is. Of course one of the zombies will predictably say”So what? Babies get shaken to death EVERYWHERE!” or “What was the baby’s mother & family’s part in it?” (And shall I grant them the benefit of the doubt & not surmise that there are any AA zombies who might even go so far as to ask what the innocent baby’s “part” was in it? Though of course if the baby had lived & one day found himself at a meeting “sharing” about how a member of the fellowshyt had shaken him almost to death as a young child, he would be asked by a zombie what his part in it was…wouldn’t he?) I hate AA. No child should be exposed to those meetings or the people in them. Yes, child abuse & infanticide does sadly occur outside of AA but logically the chances of a child being harmed in a myriad of ways is exponentially increased when (s)he is exposed to the menagerie of all sorts of nuts & criminals in those meetings!
