NEW Trailer for “The 13th Step” is here!!! Please share everywhere…and thank you all for participating in our film.

Here is the 7.5 min trailer

I spent the day on a stage in Venice, CA filming some of the finest VO actors in Hollywood reading public posts written on my  blog from way back when… till recently. It was mind blowing to hear these actors speak your works …OMG the insanity that is going on in AA it abominable!!!

Many of you reached out to me with your sad tales of rape, controlling sponsors, assault and 13 stepping. I cried when I saw the new trailer for the first time yesterday.
I have spent hundreds of hours with your stories in my head , in my files and on my computer. But now you are all coming to life privately in a cinematic way, to change how the world sees AA with all of the lies and criminal activity as well as the cult aspect is and was captured today on film.

I have one more video that’s about 3 1/2 min long that has more alternatives to AA footage that I will release in January 2014.  It has been a long journey, but I do plan to release the film in spring of 2014 and to submit to film festivals worldwide.

NO ONE has EVER made an exposing critical Documentary of Alcoholics Anonymous and people like controversy film so I am sure we will find distribution.
I was surprised how many Actors were also pissed off how one sided this issue is handled to this day!

Love you…

Hi everyone…I have a new trailer ready and its it up on youtube right now. Please share and feel free to contact me if you want.
December 10, 2013

Although we are raising money again… I am really posting here for you to see the progress I have made and what the new footage looks like. Please spread the word.

This story is too controversial, untapped and never told. Hollywood loves that sh*t.

We know the truth here. Now the rest of America and the world converted to AA Bullsh*t needs to know it too!

I continue to receive sexual predatory stories on my blogs weekly, and am still seeking people who are willing to share their stories. If you would like to speak to me privately, please e-mail me at

The 13th Step is about the criminal and sexually predatory behavior that occurs systemically in Alcoholics Anonymous. This behavior goes unchecked by A.A’s world headquarters, despite repeated warnings from respect board members and longtime members. This behavior is exacerbated by the systematic sentencing of criminals and sex offenders to AA meetings without the knowledge of the AA members.

  1. Well done and thanks for all your efforts. I look forward to seeing what you have come up with. I think it is important to keep building interest as you progress, to keep people interested in the project.

  2. Fabulous Massive! Gosh… I really do admire your talent and tenacity to embark on such an undertaking and see it through. This, we get from someone who was in AA for 35 years! That fact inspired me so much last year because you had way more time than my witch ex sponsor and grand zombie sponsor. And you said HONEST…REAL…FEARLESS…POWERFUL stuff. Really, that helped to snap me out of it. I know your film will have the same effect on so many other people caught in the twisted vortex of lies, pain and abuse. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you Massive! I am sending you hugs and neverending waves of gratitude and love. This is mind-soul & life-saving Work you are doing…TRULY: You Are Not Powerless!

  3. loving life52, illbefree, and rick42, Thank you ! I have enjoyed and need your support whether its been on the phone, through emails, in person or blogging! I plan to post it up on all my sites late Tuesday. 🙂 Thanks to all who have been participating in my project.

  4. Thank you for doing it Massive!

I am trying to console myself with a new blog/web site I just discovered while researching more book that we might add to the reading list this year. ( “Clean: Overcoming Addiction and Ending America’s Greatest Tragedy,” It says, Addiction is a preventable, treatable disease, not a moral failing. As with other illnesses, the approaches most likely to work are based on science — not on faith, tradition, contrition, or wishful thinking.

These facts are the foundation of Clean, a myth-shattering look at drug abuse by the author of Beautiful Boy. Based on the latest research in psychology, neuroscience, and medicine, Clean is a leap beyond the traditional approaches to prevention and treatment of addiction and the mental illnesses that usually accompany it. The existing treatment system, including Twelve Step programs and rehabs, has helped some, but it has failed to help many more, and David Sheff explains why.”)

So, the Shatterproof people are coming from a place where they are recognize that the so-called “treatment” out there now is not working…but they still believe in the disease model.

Still, they research and promote real medicine and scientific research. Also the people involved with the organization are serious what we might call “heavy-hitters” Please take a look at the people involved:

    AA would not like them…

Still, their words are tinged with a lot of AA-ism. Do they realize it? We know how much AA-ism has permeated our society and the perception around substance use disorder. I do not know what to think; but they seem sincere about their dedication to creating a strong national voice to end addiction.

Here is their video featuring parents of young people who have suffered form substance use disorder:

I just posted a link to your documentary on their site under their video. It is their first comment…see how they receive it? I can see this issue of whether it is a disease or not is going to continue to be discussed whether people are 12 step supporters or not.

Let the debates wage on though… Either way, AA is NO WAY! That I do know.

I would love to get your input on what this org is doing?

  5. Wow, this is so very exciting, Massive. Last night I was trying to come up with a newer way to say THANK YOU that would fully convey how appreciative and excited I am for you. How about your very own Christmas song?

sung to the tune of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”
by Rainbow the Elf (one of your biggest fans — LOL)

    Oh, I finally walked out
    And soon you will too
    I ain’t goin’ back
    A. A. can get screwed!

Massive’s film is coming to town!

    I’m happy today
    My life sure is nice
    A. A. will implode
    They’ll all pay the price!

Massive’s film is coming to town!

I’m throwin’ out my Big Books
    They’re going in the trash
    I’ll work thru my resentments
Then – A.A. can kiss my ass!

    I finally walked out
    I’m glad you did too
    We’ll never go back
    A. A. can get screwed!

  6. I’m so excited. All ur hard work is paying off. I don’t know how to express my gratitude either…

But I will say it again. Thank you so freaking much! 🙂

    Can’t wait to see it.

  7. Nice work, Massive. i actually did not know until recently that you knew “VO” people. (I did a google search of you.) You must have amazing connnections. Their help to you in this effort is wonderful. I hope they realize what a seervice they’re doing for all of us… Thank you so very much. You will make history, my friend. xxoo

  8. They are great actors and so supportive and talented. I’m releasing and uploading a new 7 min trailer tomorrow!!! yea…its a long way from those early days on stinkin thinkin when I was still in AA trying to make it safer!

  9. Yayyy! I can’t wait to see the trailer tomorrow. Let’s be sure to add comments regarding the development of the documentary on the You Are Not Powerless Conference Call this Wed. You will have the floor to make any announcements regarding this exciting development…in addition to discussing Her Best Kept Secret? Also I am still reviewing the Shatterproof website…my heart sank when I saw that in their Resource section they had AA and NA on their list but none of the excellent resources we know are out there like SMART, SOS, Moderation Management, etc. Is this due to pure unawareness or a dilibrate omission? I have already posted your video on their site. Tomorrow I will post a list of other alternatives and how they react will reveal a lot about their Core Intentions. With the caliber of people on their team and their stated Purpose one would assume they would know of these other non 12 step programs by now. Do they REALLY want to sincerely help…or just promote 12 step Bill-Shit further is my question?

PS. To anyone interested I have a reviewers copy of Clean by David Sheff if anyone wants to borrow it. While acknowledging that “key aspects of AA are problematic-even dangerous for some people…the main problem is not with AA itself” (p.225 in my advance readers copy) Goes on to say “AA has saved millions of lives” His son Nic Sheff has written 2 addiction memoirs(before the age of 30) of which I have read one “We All Fall Down”. He, like his father, is generally pretty positive with some reservations about AA and 12 step programs

  11. This is so BEAUTIFUL. It brought tears to my eyes…really.

DECEMBER’S READ: Her Best Kept Secret by Gabrielle Glaser!

Thank you and we look forward to speaking with one another.

  12. Karla and her parents, it’s soooo heartbreaking. I send healing energies to them.

Massive u are so brave and beautiful. Thank you so much for speaking for those of us that have been abused by AA’s philosophy and the ppl in it. Kudos to you my friend. 🙂

  13. i left AA because i had enough when they told me i may have to
sponsor a child molestor. They also tryed to put a guilt trip on me when
i said i didnt want to do that.

i never found anything good in AA, i didnt get any of the things promised
while clean/sober and doing what they suggested.

    the times i was sexually assualted,verbally abused,my life threatned…
i was blamed and not supported. i’m lucky i wasnt raped beaten or murdered.

    i’m lucky i got out.

And im sorry that others weren’t so lucky.

  14. Great work Massive.
It seems like nobody really knows much about this organization until they have some direct involvement with it. I know I was like that. I especially like the part where the ex-board member highlights the way that “time” is worshiped in the rooms.

    • So did I. It’s like yeah last night I molested a child, but hey I’ve been sober 30 years, and everybody claps.

I know that’s an exaggeration, but u get the picture.

        • Goodnight. We are out safe but the verbs, emotional, mental, sexual abuse I went through really took its toll on me. Doing trauma work in therapy about it but almost done.

We are FREE. I just feel for that young girl or anyone that this is happening to cause I guarantee it is. Hopefully this film will give them the courage to leave too. 🙂

    • rick42- thank you! where the ex-board member highlights the way that “time” is worshiped in the rooms.
yea Jim is a great guy and was on the board when my letter came. He was horrified at AA GSO response to mine and Paul C letter.

  15. i’m haveing one of my sleepless nights.
been watching the trailer again.i like what jim from SOS had to say.
    And AA Jim too.

But the lady at the end really gets to my heart.
What she said about over hearing them.
“They convinced her to come off her meds then took turns with her.”

How the hell can anyone say AA is a safe place to be.

  17. sally- no I had no idea. I was thinner 2 years ago. But making this film is stressful and I need to shed those pounds I have gained sitting while working on the computer. 🙂 I guess you have naturally curly hair too. :)))

  18. I cannot tell you how ironic it is that I came across this trailor.. I went to 4 AA meetings last week and I have to say I believe in intuition and all red flags went up in my head. I thought it was a place where you can share your problems and the fellow members gave advice . One girl came in completely distraught and overwhelmed with the temptation to use again, she shared her feelings and got absolutely no advice except a bunch of phone numbers to call, at that same meeting I was feeling a little apprehensive About going so my 43 year old friend came to support me and she was very closed to being kicked out bc she didn’t have a problem. It truly is a cult and it’s scary. Especially when you have to go around the room and say your name and that you re an alcoholic and that’s the thing I don’t even really know if I am or not because there is no concrete definition it’s basically subjective, but at the same time classified as a disease, well I am not a Doctor but I would think in order to have a disease you must have concrete symptoms. AA makes it sound like its a jail sentence that you will never overcome . We need to bring awareness to people that they are more powerful then that bottle and yes there is a God who has given us free will and if we pray and believe he will lead us to make the right choices for ourselves which will empower us.

    • lisa-God who has given us free will and if we pray and believe he will lead us to make the right choices for ourselves which will empower us. a few years before I left I began to think about being a little girl and sitting in Catechism class and the nuns talking about God, Free will and sin.

It dawned on me that as a Catholic I was taught I had free will. I was not a puppet. What kind of f**king religion is AA to tell you you have to ask GOD everything and ask a sponsor what to do….how and when to wipe your butt>?????? AA was not that way in 1975 and if it were I would have run. I wish I ran 🙁

    • Lisa, you’re right, that pressure to say “I am an alcoholic” is a huge red flag. People are expected to label themselves before they’ve ever seriously studied AA’s nasty definition of the word. Many people assume that a new person simply has to admit that they have a problem, yet it isn’t acceptable in those rooms to just say “I have a problem”. A person with a problem might actually recover, but an alcoholic according to AA is diseased and defective for life.

  19. Lisa- Hi and welcome ! The whole going around the room and making everyone do that is so f **King weird. They do that in LA. It was never done in Hawaii back in the day.

If it were a disease you would not go to turn it over to god to be cured. You would see a Dr for some real medicine. How did this Friggen cult get such a hold on our media , culture and medicine. AA is not medicine. AA hurts and makes things things worse.

  20. It is SO awesome to see all of the new people coming here and letting us all know what has happened to them. I want you all to know that we can sincerely relate to you. You are not alone.

I encourage you to come to the call on WED. night if you can. It is wonderful to connect with other like-minded people online as we do, it is also really TERRIFIC to get to hear one another’s voices, talk, laugh and to hear Massive describe what she has planned for her visits to future AA meetings…

Well, it’s just dog on PRICELESS is what it is! 😀 (She really makes me wish I could go too!)

I insisted on trying to do this call again with the You Are Not Powerless Book Club because I put SO much Time into AA. I facilitated a conference call and read the stupit BS BB and 12 & 12 online with people… we all recited the serenity prayer together afterwards—the whole shyt-wad. (AA has conference calls that go on daily at different times EVERYDAY… People call in from literally all over the world. It would be a powerful experience if they were not all on brain-wash-juice.)

I want to try to put my energy into doing something that will actually empower and help people. That’s why I want to do the call. If people want it to be…I’ll do it.

I still feel residual effects from my experience with AA…. I don’t know HOW that can still be so. I only made it about 2 years with them. Maybe it’s just my imagination? I know I do not feel like I felt last year…but that is not saying a whole lot. Last year…I was a mess.

    This year… I don’t know how I feel. I’m free though. I AM FREE!

Still, its been a rather blue season for me…better than last year, but still blue. As silly as it sounds I just felt a bit a ‘cheer’ by being contacted by an new/old friend of mine that I was just getting to know when I allowed myself to get bogged into the AA crap moggs.

They FORBAD me to talk to him. He’s a ‘dranKer’ a big ol cowboy looking dude, with tattoos who LOVES to sing. He was the videographer fro the auditions I went to a few years back. He caught my eye the MOMENT he walked. He’s one of those guys that makes every other fellah in the place DISAPPEAR when he appears. I didn’t even know he noticed me till he walked by on time and said, “Hey Darlin! I got some real good shots for the video of you yesterday!”

He flashed that MILLION DOLLAR grin and that was it for my ass! LOL

WE were planning to sing some song together a few years back before AA. I was excited about it. He runs a club/ Karaoke bar.

And you KNOW I was not “allowed” to go to such a place by my sponsor and grand sponsor who shook their heads and told me what a “diseased-brain” I was suffering from. They said I didn’t really like him; it was MY DISEASE. (And it was MY DISEASE that made me want to love and spend time with my family and my mother too…right? ASS HOLES!)

They smugly called him a “thug” and said that he would not like the “sober” me anyway. They said that he was only attracted to the Karaoke-bar-sangin-THING that he met…not me. In fact, they said that there was no “me”. I was not even a REAL PERSON yet.

They did not like him at all. Well, I know he wouldn’t like them either…prune-dried blitches from cultville. Hell, I don’t like them. I do not want to be like them and I do not want shyt that they have.

His mother died recently and I am so glad that I am free to be a REAL PERSON and just be there for a friend… Maybe I can help him get thru the pain of her loss. I can’t imagine losing my mother. Perhaps he can draw some strength from me of at least have a few moments when he can think about something else as he goes thru the grieving process. I don’t know…

And maybe communicating with him and lifting his spirits will help lift my spirits? On the surface we look like POLAR OPPOSITES… But he has a Heart of Gold…and I think we are at least kindred spirits…natural friends.

I’d like to know somebody REAL for a change… I REALLY would.

Last year after I just escaped, I wasn’t sure if AA was really the hell & damnation, bs, cult trap that I know it is today. They say there are “bad people” everywhere…and I will not argue with that. Still there are MORE so-called bad, deluded, psychopathic, mean, narcissistic, perverted, afflicted, sadistic, mentally retarded, abusive, exploitative, brain-dead mo-fo’s in AA (and NA) that there are CONCENTRATED anywhere fn else.

I’d rather go out have a few beers with some good old towny Karaoke-motorcycle-hillbillies than ever hang out with those wicked zombies ever, ever, ever again.

My confusion about THAT is gone.

I am so glad I’m out!

It’s been a year now and if I ever tell any one of you that I am thinking about “crawling back to the tables” (as they promise us all we will do IF we are lucky enough not to DIE…) you have my permission to take me out to the alley where wild, rabid pit bulls can feast on my useless brain.

    By the way…

    I hate AA.

    • Illbefree the only reason to go back is to nake a safty annoucmenet and tell them about the court ordering of felons. But it sucks to go alone. I went with my film crew to scout and it was not bad at all. In fact the big meeting had shrunk about 75 %. SO now when I think of that meeting It s shrunk.

I say go sing with that cowboy and have fun and if I can I’ll join you again! Im filming that day but I think I can.

      • Hi! Thanks Massive… I wish I had seen the announcement about your LIVE call ins earlier. I would have called in. Sorry I missed it. 🙁

Yes, I will have to get some copies of the flyers. I don’t have the guts to go and hand them out at meetings YET…but I do have my handy dandy booklet that my “sponsor” taught me to use to find meetings.

I will happily go and leave the flyers on tables, hallways, chairs where they will see them before they meet.

Oh to be a fly on those walls…huh?

Thanks for shining such a BRIGHT LIGHT Massive!

I spoke to Mr. Cowboy last night… I told him a little about my awful AA experience. He said, “No worries Honey… I been there done THAT. Those AA’s are nothing but hypocrite assholes. I was in there for a while and told them to all go F themselves!”

We had a good LAUGH! He did not experience any trauma with them because he just didn’t keep fn with ’em.

But Whooo… I told him I have not even been on a date in over 3 years and he wants me to come swoop me away, cook for me at his place and have us get up onstage and sing together at his club…

That would have sounded AWESOME to the “old” me…

The new me (who ever SHE is) is kinda fearful… I think I have read tooooo much on AntiD’s blog…

I’ve known him for about 3 years… Well, I met him at the show auditions 3 yrs ago and we have kept in touch…but DAMN…

Too fast for my tired old blood…

Only the old Party Girl me might consider what he wants me to do.

Don’t men take women out on old fashioned dates anymore?

Gosh… must I be drunk to date? LOL

        I’m sounding old and boring ain’t I?

Hope to hear more of you on the call…and sorry I missed today’s call. I know it was a BLAST!
