Anna Ackerman gets 4-10 years in Prison for Sexual assault on a minor.

Anna Ackerman, female member of famous groups Alcoholics anonymous, touted to be SAFE , but are they really safe.

A judge sentenced Ackerman, 45, to 4 to 10 years in state prison for performing sex acts on the 15-year-old boy during a party she hosted in Mount Joy. Numerous teenagers attended the party on June 16, 2009, according to court testimony.

Ackerman last year withdrew a guilty plea. She was scheduled to go to trial Tuesday morning but instead decided to plead no contest to the charges.

Monica Richardson was born and raised in New York City in the most northern part of Manhattan, "Inwood" an Irish Catholic neighborhood known for its gorgeous parks, tree lined streets, local bars, Jewish delicatessens, and basketball courts. I worked and liced in lancaster after i stopped atteneding 12 step and prior to living there I went sparadically to a few meetings in Lancaster City decades ago. I was never familiar with the regulars. however Caron Foundation was a local rehab in Ephrata. PA that indoctrinated the likes of James Taylor and Aerosmith so i considered Lancaster the “Hazleton Miinesota” of the Mid Atlantic Region. So there was a lot of Rigid Hard Core AA Rehab Indoctrination and sloganeering regurgitated at most meetings.
My worst traumas ironically came from constant emotional rape by the militant happy joyous and free serenity prayer goose stepping soilders. I recall never being abvle to say i was sad angry or upset about anything with out someone telling me that anger is a luxury we can not afford, and more importantly, AA’s primary purpose is to carry a message, not a mess, to the newcomer who still suffers. But of course they need to get grateful immediately or they will drink! Amen! I remeber one red faced sober-aholic would reguarly chastize one particular woman for taking about her emotional pain due to her recent divorce problems – accusing her of violating traditions by talking about outsiode issues. I don’t think i could go within ear shot of an AA meeting without having a Post Traumatic Stress Attack triggered by far too many years of hearing such insane abusive horse shit day in day out. just constantly busting pooor unwittting victims mind enough to make anyone ru8n for the doors to go get drunk afgter hearing so called AA helpful slogans and traditions. I could imagine hell itself being one big mumble mouth AA meeting with the chair person cutting off any member who dared to share anything not in the AA big Book that truly made healthy sense because that as any ex AA meber knows all too well would surely be an outside issue and thus a violation of AA traditions. Holy Crazy Making Bill Shit! God Save Us All from accidentally coming within earshot of an AA meeting! anyhow thanks for being here I use to think i was crazy for believing aa was crazy. I almost died feeling so isolated with out any other decenting voices speaking up publically protesting AA abuses and providing a sane corraborating witness for healthy reality. I sure was lonely back in 1996 before i ever heard another anti -AA protester in the whole wide world.

HI Matt- there is so much in this post to discuss. If you want to zoom with me to discuss publicly I would love that. I bet it was lonely when you left. SO many left quietly. No blogs, no FB. I wonder if there were ex stepper yahoo groups back then possibly ?

Thanks for all your posts. So James Taylor was talking about clinical depression right before the pandemic. I hope he finds help. Maybe some Plant Based Medicine will help him .

i miss it when you take a break and i don’t get to read a monthly deprogramming article etc hope you are healthy per the covid thing? To answer you question, i seriously fear criticizing aa in public. I experienced a lot of violence from aa (gang) members because i challenged aa/na abuses at almost every meeting. aa/na was basically populated by sober people from the ghetto areas of the city i lived in in th 1980s-90s. i saw my criticisms of aa/na as helping people, they saw it as an attack on what they said last week, aka person insults. A lot of them got their only esteem in life from being able to exactly recite the book more than the next guy. I often see the same religious freak behavior in churches with people who are always trying to make themself look holier by believing every word of the bible more than you. And if you question the bible you are the devil and deserve their wrath even violence. i would always forget i was banging heads with unstable people not debating philosophical subtleties with academics seeking intellectual freedom against the mental slavery of a dogmatic program. I never understood why steppers portrayed me as so negative and in their words “totally full of shit” because i didn’t work the program with total loyalty like they did from their POV. LOL. Wow now looking back, who was more stupid? I sure feel pretty dumb in hind sight. but the whole time i was inside the program looking glass world, i thought i could change the archaic backward recovery world. i thought they needed me. they hated me. LOL. and yet i kept coming back. like beaten spouse syndrome i guess? I don’t think i was brainwashed. I wanted to change the whole abusive mess. I thought i could change it from day one when i encouraged people to start na meetings bc aa was so archaic and prejudiced against drug users. na was better because there was only a little white book and other wise no dogma had been established in 1980s. I was always trying to stretch the envelope and rebel against the dogma and create something more modern free thinking and healthier that would eventual over throw the old dogma and turn the “program” into something new. I got stuck on the idea it had to happen somehow from the inside out bc aa had and still has such control over the whole medical recovery world. I never had the foresight to start something brand new like harm reduction. to be honest i did have tunnel vision about total abstinence being the only way to get clean. it took smarter people than me to use science to prove that way forward. so maybe i was brainwashed or at least my foresight was repressed and stunted by aa/na dogma. oh well. have a rebellious and emotionally authentic day anyway. hope everyone stays healthy somehow!

  HI Thank you for posting. Yes I was busy with my new grandson – all is well . We all got covid in Summer of 2021 . I just tested positive but one son and hubbie got a bad flu like sickness. Thank goodness for Moniclonal antibodies and IV Vitamin drip which made my hubby well in 3 days . I too thought ABS was the only way.
  
  I do think Plant Based Meds will take AA out in a big way. We need a limited series too . One that tells the sad sorry truth about AA.
