Is Leaving a Pacific Group style AA harder then regular AA?

July 28, 2021 Posted by MONICA RICHARDSON Uncategorized 15 Comments

This is a question that I have never asked myself. But now for some reason  we are getting alot of PG members leaving and coming to us on Social media groups. We know that Clancy I. ran this group. Clancy thankfully died this past year during covid closures in Los Angeles. Sorry to sound harsh but he was a pretty awful guy. Reports of his grabbing women’s asses and boobs in meetings all the time  is still  being told to me.

I have spent a few hours talking and texting with women who have left or are leaving.  The type of abuse they endured is that of any other cult.  Where do I begin. Let me just put this out to the web and see what happens.

  1. Men were ordered to wear  suits at all meetings and when speaking at any AA meeting.
  2. Women were told to wear dresses.
  3. Members were sometimes told who they could have sex with.
  4. Members were told to clean up dog poo in his back yard.
  5. Members were told that AA meeting attendance was more important then their children or family.
  6. Members were told that if they took medication , even antidepressants or migraine medication that they were not ” sober “.
  7. It has been alleged  to me that Clancy made women perform sexual favors  on him when he sponsored  them in the 1980’s.

Its astonishing 1million AA members unconsciously perpetrate abuse never noticing anything wrong with the AA big book that was based on Bill Wilson’s Belladonna detox hallucinations/revelations, that were medically misreported as an unadulterated spiritual anointing by God on par with Warren Jeffs of the Mormon Church, LDSJC who at least don’t beat around the bush about it their God given Patriarchy control over women. Belladonna is a hypnotic hallucinogenic that Bill accurately described as freedom from self, chemically induced “freedom” being an oxymoron. In fact Belladonna aka NightShade is reportedly used to kidnapped people. Belladonna renders These victims highly susceptible to suggestion. They are told that emptying their bank account will help others. These victims give up their will and follow directions. The same way Bill W gave up his self will and falsely believed his Belladonna revelatory experience was the result of the oxford group principles/steps that Bill submitted himself to when proselytized by Ebby Thatcher under the influence of Belladonna in detox…. his dosage increased every hour until his eyes dilated and his lips dried and cracked. This drug cocktail should be studied as a treatment for narcissistic personality disorder which may be the true disorder Bill W tried to alleviate by medicating himself with alcohol.

    but I digress,
I noticed Several AA problems that greatly aggravated the social ills of AA beyond Bill Wilson’s dysfunctional drug delusions.

    1. There are approximate 3 men to every 1 woman in AA meetings. The theory of network affect states that the power of a network increases exponentially to the number of individuals in a social network. From a male perspective This is also true of negative network effects in AA. Males acted more desperate and female acted more strident, realizing their greater scarcity value compared to males. I saw males lower themself to hold on to scarce relationship options with females who psychologically abused males, aggravated by this less obvious and overt exponential imbalance of social supply and demand.

    2. Although THE alcoholic personality as narrowly defined by AA condemnations may be a myth, I suspect Personality Disorders. malevolent and/or benign, neurotic and/or psychopathic, may in fact be a ubiquitous Major Axis in ALL cases of SUDs. ie PTSD and other disorders as suggested far more empathetic by Dr, Gabor Matte’ who claims all addicts were traumatized. However, Matte’ most often omits that it is well know that victims often re-perpetrate.

    3. Many new studies report that Gender abuse is perpetrated equally in different shapes and forms, which are made more readily visible by The Myth of Male Power by Dr. Warren Farrell and the documentary The Red Pill by Cassie Jaye.

I’ll just pile this on top the more obvious AA abuse, and see what response happens.

HI Matt- The stories of simple things like , Men must wear suits, Women in 2021 must wear dresses and men can not have facial hair may be enough to get the ball rolling on Exposing AA vis The Pacific Group, because these things are so NUTS . And they are told who to have sex with. Many members switching partners and cheating on each others spouses as well.

    Hi Monica,
Yes selective focus on Pacific Group’s special abuse methods is of course valid and fully warranted, yet on many levels they used the exact same copy cat AA abuses in my town and towns nearby. Its more or less universal AA abuse that imo comes from the entirely negligent AA suggestion to “turn your will over” to unqualified AA sponsor/gurus. it just begs for abuse. wherever AA exists? I didn’t intend to dilute the focus on Pacific group. but rather, magnify it to it’s full AA wide scope.

Every group has it’s local : founder” who is not unlike the local Pope or The Buddha representing Bill Wilson “the faith healing miracle worker” re-incarnate in each local group, BillW’s ego maniac fraud is duplicated and abused so easily when people are desperate and vulnerable. Newcomers quickly become AA blind followers of the unqualified loose cannon AA miracle worker demiGod, surrendering their will to the group’s sponsorship hierarchy, that grows with lost/followers underneath the “founder” as their only visible higher power, the leader is for all intents worshiped, for starting the group, for being closest to the source of the local miracle, Followers repeat the leader’s sloganeering to be accepted by the local symbolic GodHead. Something has to fill the void of the mysterious missing silent “Higher Power” that AA offers as the only miraculous solution to their deadly medical problem.

Sometimes the more flexible and decent the abuse is worded and spoken – the harder it is to validate and confront as serious deadly medical fraud abuse?

AA is so nice to just want to help poor sick people with free therapy that is for their own good – but yet also in fact a total deadly medical fraud that will kill them while helpfully telling them it’s all their fault~ they simply weren’t willing to accept AA fraud/help – that is a totally polite and deadly fraud that kills people because TA total abstinence causes alcohol/substance deprivation effect that causes more compulsive relapses that more easily kill, by AA being so nice just trying to help bot forcing anything except not admitting the deadliness of what AA says so flexibly wo a;;owing or engaging any out side criticism. bc aa is so spiritual;y flexible and nice.

forcing some one to dress a certain way could have helped piss them off to leave AA and save their life elsewhere with 36 netter methods its hard to miss a better way even when aimlessly leaving AA?

It’s all The same soul murdering, self will killing. abuse that happens in every small and large AA brainwashed town in America. AA’s practice of “surrendering your will” by “following directions” from a sponsor is a universal abuse practiced in all AA groups. It may not be suits or dresses, but It’s always abuse in whatever shape and form that it comes wrapped up inside as part of the perfect unquestionable God/Guru Given AA program.

AA damages more people across the whole world than COVID. I’m so frustrated pardon me for speaking outside the scope of the topic. AA abuse manifests infinite twisted shapes and forms its scary, I have a scientific world view, yet I sometimes find myself wondering if Bill W actually conjured up unclean spirits injecting malevolent spells loose in auto writings he copied into AA books during seance gatherings at stepping stones. AA Paranormal investigators say Yes! LOL.

Thanks for keeping AA protest alive!

Matt- You are 100 % correct. How easily people get brainwashed. I understand how it happens but don’t get it, how big AA still is. Hollywood promotes it more then ever. Sadly too many shows use it as the only way to be helped. Like sliced bread.

We are organizing in FACEBOOK private groups if you want to join us. I think things will change now that we are organizing and I do think the pandemic ZOOM meetings did hurt AA. Best to you. Monica

    Cult test
Thought-Stopping Language. Thought-terminating clichés and slogans.
    A.A. scores a 10.

The use of lots of thought-stopping slogans and clichés is one of Dr. Robert Jay Lifton’s eight essential conditions for a “thought reform” (brainwashing) program.

A.A. has so many slogans and thought-stopping clichés that I can only paraphrase the Bible: “Our name is Legion, for we are so many.” Alcoholics Anonymous has to be the world’s champion for slogans; I just cannot think of any other cult or organization that has more slogans.

Many of the A.A. slogans contradict each other, so you can sometimes quote an A.A. slogan for whichever side of an issue you wish to promote. Also notice how many of them are negative, and condescending or demeaning to the newcomer alcoholics. That helps in the cult conversion process, breaking down the minds and wills of newcomers.

“You must Work A Strong Program, or else your fate will be Jails, Institutions, or Death.”
“I would be in prison or dead if I hadn’t come to A.A.”
“You’re better off in here pretending you are an alcoholic, than out there pretending you’re not.”
    “Without A.A., it’s Amen.”
“The alcoholic who is dying out there on the street.”
“If you drink, your fate is jails, institutions, or death.”
“If you leave A.A., your fate is jails, institutions, or death.”
“I’ve been in jails; I’ve been in institutions; there’s only one more place to go.”
“The bottle, big house, or the box.”
    “Death, insanity, or recovery.”
“Always remember the insanity… Be thankful for the pain… But most of all be thankful for the days that remain.”
“The choice I have today is either to be Contented or Demented.”
    “We have a choice.”
“We admitted we were powerless over alcohol.”
“I am powerless over people, places, and things.”
    “Strength in powerlessness.”
“Before You Say: I Can’t… Say, I’ll Try.”
“Pain is a constant. Suffering is a choice.”
“We don’t get run over by the train, we get hit by the engine (1st drink).”
“I’ve been sober and I’ve been drunk. Sober’s better.”
“A.A. is the highest priced club in the world. If you have paid the dues, why not enjoy the benefits?”
“A.A. is the last stop on the train.”
“A.A. is the last house on the street.”
“A.A. is the Last Stop on the Track.”
    “I tried everything before A.A.”
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.”
“Insanity is the seeming inability to learn from past mistakes.”
“Daniel didn’t go back to the lion’s den to get his hat.”
“We have no opinion on outside issues.”
“Keep your sobriety first to make it last.”
“Don’t let anything get in front of your recovery.”
“You will lose anything that you put ahead of your recovery.”
“You must be willing to go to any length for your sobriety.”
“If you are not working on your recovery, you are working on your relapse.”
“If you want what we have and you’re willing to go to any lengths to get it.”
    “Half measures availed us nothing.”
“Where do I find sobriety? Twelve steps past any lengths.”
“One drink and you lose all of your years of sobriety.”
“One drink and you have to start over at Day One.”
    “One Drink, One Drunk.”
“One drink is too many, and a thousand is not enough.”
“The road to sobriety is a simple journey for confused people with a complicated disease.”
“AA is way ahead of science when it comes to alcoholism.”
“Here was a book that said that I could do something that all these doctors and priests and ministers and psychiatrists that I’d been going to for years couldn’t do!”
    “Keep Coming Back… It Works!”
“Keep Coming Back… It Works If You Work It!”
“Keep Coming Back… It Works If You Work It, It Won’t If You Don’t.”
“Keep Coming Back… It Works If You Work It, You Die If You Don’t.”
“Keep Coming Back… It Works If You Work It, You Die If You Don’t. So Work It — You’re Worth It!”
“Keep coming until you hear your story.”
    “It isn’t religious, it’s spiritual.”

    “Your thinking is alcoholic.”
“Your best thinking got you here.”

HI – Matt, This is a fantastic post. I agree. AA has so much “loaded language” I I like to say now. Many markers for a cult.
      1. Only We can help you . Bullshit
      2. If you ever leave you will die , go insane, go to jail, or drink again in that special way.
      3. No body understands you like ” we ” do. Bullshit.
      4. You are different from your fellows. are then kidding…. what century are they in anyway.

are you in any of my FACEBOOK groups ? I would love for you to come on my podcast and read this list. Let me know.

The stupid slogans sprouted by obnoxious & arrogant AAholes. Wilson must have used LSD to try and get back his “spirtual experience” because his Oxford Group Step’s failed to give it to him. There was nothing more annoying than an AAhole screaming slogan’s at a newcomer or anyone who questioned the Pogrom. The PG was unreal to witness, I had one sponser from that crowd and my word what a deuce bag he truly was, never admit when they are wrong and go ballistic in a heartbeat. The anger inside those brainwashed fools is unbelievable. One ex member of that cult told me he had to clean the dog crap off of Clancy’s driveway as it made him humble to do so, inside Clancy’s house there were three big portraits inside of Ghandi, the Pope and Clancy himself!!

How refreshing it wold have been if Lip would have stayed true to his character. Sadly I’m guessing that the Producers hired a stepper Writer on the team – and he pushed his ideology on the team of writers. Thanks for your input.

You gotta be careful using the word love around me after too many years of AA crazy making. I might mistake it as an attempt to sponsor me. lmao! to be clear I laughing “with you” and the theme here all the way. My sarcasm is notorious for going wide outbounds when you can’t see my facial expressions or hear my tone for cues. lol

Anyhow I often mediatate calm my AA rage listening on your blog treasures and your talent for segwaays and reconnection pulling everything together tight tight tight bright bright bright, oh Im just trying to make your husband jealous with all the extra complements.

But alas my IQ drops 40 points when i go live or even record my real time blubberings. now and agin i get in the zone but i can’t risk it cause my voice is easily identifiable not famous but around my town. And The higher the monley goes up the tree the more of his backside you get to see! Heck I take several minutes massging the kinks out of these little replies to seem smarter than i really am. ha! Thats all stuff from Orangepapers btw! Im not as smart as terry. Did you ever have him on. He seems to have let go on to somethingelse huh? Good for him. I wonder if thats best for me sometimes. No long standing on the merry go round ou ound I just had to let it go! I just had toooo let it goo ooo ooo ooo oo!

but great zeus on high heaven someone please keep AA protest alive. You and Claudia Christian or Somebody new unknown yet coming are our only hope!!! The 50billlion per year AA rehab medical malpractice fraud loobyists seem to have execeuted a unseen plan to omit AA protest voices from major or minor media any way they can omit and deny. Denial aint just a place in AA.

Yet You are so talented at hosting and interviewing. You Monica Richards deserve and i say the world needs your own show with the same if not far more exposure than Lea Remini was given!!! AA is a Hellish Bigger more Deadly medical malpractice Brainwashing Monster than Scientology. CIA NSA DEA probably protect AA to keep tabs on all the drug court loose canoons in those open day ward meetings? huh? thats a “through the looking glass” interview topic huh?

Hi Bob I take your claim seriously. I believe AA can psycologically destroy and kill people. AA had me so broken I was talking to myself for years, still do sometimes, defending myself reliving AA meeting arguments that still effect me replaying in my memory. I was always disagreeing with AA dogma at meetings and i got alot of help/abuse for it. The stuff they are brainwashed to defend can psycologically tear you down and yet at the same time they blame you for saying it hurts.bc AA is a perfect program donchaknow. Once I got on the wrong side of AA it followed me around town and at work where people labeled me abusive for criticizing a program that only helps people. the whole world attcks you defending AA abuse. its really powerful and overwhelming psyhcosocial abuse infecting all of society. I also found it extremely rare to find a therapist who would not challenge me for criticizing AA. The whole therapy sysytem is totally emeshed with AA because therapist got vast numbers of referrals from AA rehabs that paid their mortgages. Therapists also get brainwashed by AA and all their colleagues who have been complict with AA abused over their long careers and cant admit it was all wrong and all abuse. Thank goodness for Gabrielle Glasser’s article “the irrationality of AA” and Miller and Hester’s book “Alcoholism treatment Approaches” and dr David Sinclair for raising awareness aboout ADE Alcohol/Substance Deprivation Syndrome. Someday there will be a diagnosis called AA PTSD. with 2 million cases in the USA.

    Hi Monica,
    Thank you for this forum.
My close friend left her sponsor of 9 yrs, whose sponsor was Clancy and ran her program the Pacific cult way.
I’ve been wary of both the Atlantic and Pacific groups, as the click-like cultish style repels me.
I ran across an article in The Fix a while back, which explained the groups origin as a way to “guide” people released from jail who required the strict control they propose. (the site for The Fix is not available now. Neither are some negative links about Clancy…hmmmm)
    Anyway.
Last weekend I became concerned when I could not reach my friend, who had not been feeling well, lives alone and is older.
I mistakenly reached out to her former sponsor and her “babies” to see if anyone knew anything about my friend. Her response was angry and hostile. She said my friend had fired her, quit AA (which was not true), and when her sponsees asked her if they should contact my friend she said “No.”
This high handed, arrogant response left me speechless.
I do not abide groups shunning or bullying others. This is wrong.
Keep speaking out about the abuses until they stop.
I do thank the reasonable people in AA who have and continue to help me, and like anything in life, I am free to choose and use my own discernment.
