Parents Seeking addiction Treatment for adult children with good insurance – Beware.

But Wendy has been fighting this fight for 15 long years since her son Jarrod died in a unregulated SOBER LIVING in 2004. _ did  you know that all Sober Living in California is unregulated?

Fact. They don’t even need a license- Joe Schmo or Sally Sunshine can rent or buy a house and just open it – poof – now he or she can “treat” your family or even YOU !  sober living is not treatment – it’s a house , a room, for some it feels like prison, for some its a bed

– He then  can attach it to an IOP  which means Intensive Out Patient – which can also mean just doing AA stuff, reading the Big Book from 1939- or being bused to AA or NA meetings. It might mean watching Hollywood A list films about how movie stars get sober – but that’s not really what is happening in Socal and Florida in the rehab industry.

Wendy has been trying to change Laws for many years now – It’s been a hard long road. I am joining her along with some other parents and those who just care – A father called in tonight – his name is Rich. Rich tragically lost his son last year in Florida. A body broker got a hold of his son. That broker have his son Alex a fatal does of Fentanyl-.
