Pilots forced to AA for 5 years or life against their will- Violates First amendment- Is AA a Cult ?

Did you know when asking for help with drinking issues, or getting a DUI that all airline pilots are forced to go to AA in a way that’s more punitive then criminals? Some have been reported by bartenders who don’t like them and roommates who think a person is drinking too much on their own free time while not working.

These are men and women who were not flying while drunk or drinking ever …these are varied stories- some went seeking simple help and found themselves going down a very steep rabbit hole. The same goes for nurses and doctors. Imagine being told you had to go to some church or temple 90 times in 90 days even after you went ( were forced ) to go to an AA based rehab for 30 days . Then after that you were told you would get your medical license back so you could fly you are then told , no – let’s delay that – do this, do that- now fly to this psychiatrist and pay $2500.00 dollars each time to be told some AA jargon – about some 1930’s “steps”.

At first I was shocked to hear what was happening. I am no longer shocked – but furious.

All fifteen pilots that have contacted me are furious.

The FAA, the Airline Pilots Association- APLA and in some cases the airlines themselves are forcing AA on these professionals. The worst part is that they are not just being forced to go sit in the meetings at an alarming rate – they are made to pretend and talk that AA cult lingo or YOU WILL NOT FLY again – or nurse or practice medicine!

When did Alcoholics Anonymous get so deep in these professionals lives? As far as we can see it was the 1970’s for Pilots when the HIMS program was started- I watched this happen in Hawaii when Harry Lake worked for Pan American – Harry Lake was an nice AA Hawaiian baggage handler that I knew way back when I was a brainwashed stepper myself, but when Harry told me at age 19 that they were gonna force people into AA instead of the fact that AA is suppose to be strictly voluntary – ( AA Tradition #3) I told him ” nope Harry, that’s a really bad idea. It’s against AA traditions and its a violation of their right to practice or not practice their religious beliefs.”

They are all required to sign a two page contract in the HIMS program which is run by Pilots who are now AA lingo spouting members – all full of love and light .

WTF is that – where in America you can be forced by your UNION to attend a phony quasi spiritual something – that being AA, its meetings, its ideology and its steps.

Having recently watched the new Netflix series The Family – based on the New York Times best selling book by Jeff Sharlet, a few things got just a bit clearer for me— Maybe the USA government has a serious issue with our separation of church and state. This is happening and has for as long as AA, founded in 1935 and The Family, founded in 1935, have similar styles of acting.

Secrecy. Power through invisibility. No media allowed in their meetings. It’s a non partisan- which means – Democratic, Republicans and Indies are all members-

In AA, a KKK member, a black man , a judge, a police officer, a hooker, a drug dealer and an famous actor may all be attending the same meeting- holding hands and spouting powerlessness- their but for the grace of god go I -horseshit. ( choking here) …. but the tip of the iceberg is here. Over 15 pilots, 5 Nurses and a handful of Doctor all who I am in touch with will not give up .

Some have committed suicide, some have lost their jobs and walked away. Some lives have

been ruined by this forced jailed attraction to AA like its some sort of wow – sliced bread and quick fix for everyone on the planet- and some… are now really fighting back.

It has become a cause of mine just like safety – was and the outing of rapes and sexual misconduct and deaths in AA by court ordered violent and sex offenders. In my first film, The 13th Step we dealt with this – My next film will be about the fraud going on in Rehab and Sober Living and how it’s not just the drugs and booze that is killing them – It may just be that AA snake oil soap – at 95 % of all rehabs – etc.

No treatment – is killing them-

Praying it away garbage- killing them.

Then there is the failed unregulated Sober Living industry where the fox is watching the hens and there are sometimes in some states, like California, still- NO REGULATIONS -no license needed to open your door ! More regulations are for operating a nail salon.
