Warren Boyd – Jury said “yes” to Question #3 Negligent in case with Amy Brelient’s. Breliant VS Boyd today in Pasadena court.

February 11, 2019 Posted by MONICA RICHARDSON Uncategorized 27 Comments

Warren Boyd case – Negligence in the case of Amy Breliant Wrongful Death Civil Trial of Breliant VS Boyd today in Pasadena court today. Carrie Fisher and Jake Schmidt were not found guilty.

Boyd operates a Business in Huntington Beach called Wavelengths.

Here are some tips when seeking help -anywhere.

When seeking help with addiction treatment there are some things that one needs to know.

Questions to ask before you send a loved one to a rehab or sober living. First get a very clear answer if it is a licensed rehab or a sober  living – There is a big difference – ask about the workers and their credentials.

1. Are there Doctors and Nurses on site . How often will they see the Doctor, Licensed psychologist and Licensed therapist. Days and hours per week.  ( many places that advertise as “treatment” are nothing but a very expensive roof over your head and being bused  to AA/NA meetings are just an unregulated, unsafe support groups)

2. Is this property a true Medical Detox. Most rehabs in CA are not. So ask.

3. The person you are hiring, are they trained in addiction studies , not just a sober  AA/NA members with “time” .

4. The people working there – the counselors  – do they have at least a 4 years degree – or more in clinical studies regarding mental health and addiction ?

5. What is there approach. Do they use MAT (medically assisted treatment), do they offer Naltrexone for alcohol dependence, and CBT , Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  How often will they see a therapist?

6. Sober Companions do not  exist in Florida-  no one needs a sober babysitter. These person can often be just an addict last month – now sober – charging you alot of money . They are not screened, trained or educated in any way.

7. Ask around for references – just because a famous person uses a person does not make them an addiction expert. I had breast cancer – still I do not treat others for cancer – I see my Doctor.

Its time for addiction treatment reform – ask questions – Seeking out non 12 step help may be hard to find but this is growing as more people ask for it .

SMART recovery is a good support group alternative to 12 step meetings. Practical Recovery  in San Diego is a highly reputable Outpatient Clinic, EVO  is Out Patient, in Venice, CA.  The Center for Motivation and Change in NYC has inpatient in the beautiful Berkshires for those with money,  and outpatient help in NYC,  ATON  is inpatient in San Diego. SMART Recovery,  SOS, Women for Sobriety , LifeRing, Refuge Recovery  are all Alternatives to AA and NA.

I just pulled the case up. Your headline is wildly inaccurate. The jury was specifically asked if Warren Boyd was negligent in her death and the answer was no. I’m no lawyer but I’m willing to bet you’re going to get sued.

HI -Great point – Negligence – that’s it – not causation – I understand – These are facts from the results from the trial. I will repeat myself here – The jury replied YES to question #3. Negligence.

What a strange comment – This trial occurred in Pasadena , CA FACT- Brelient Vs Boyd . Gianna paid him $225,000 for his services. Staying at a sober living – The Hollywood Reporter came.

The criminal evidences were not allowed by the judge… The law protect criminals… Boyd is a big crook ex convict protected by authorities. . Why the judge didn’t allow the whole criminal evidences!? Perhaps a negotiated judge. Criminals go free innocent go to jail. Screw the corrupt system.

I’m not sure how pointing out an inaccurate headline is an attempt to intimidate (I noticed you tweaked your headline). I agree with you that this is not Russia and freedom of speech still exists but that doesn’t mean you can write whatever you want about a person in a public forum without accountability.

I have a friend that represents government agencies who get sued for malpractice. I sent her a link to your story because she likes to keep up on current events in this area. She replied that she did some digging and that your headline was inaccurate and that the jury found Mr. Boyd’s actions were not the cause of Amy’s death. Which to my understanding means he won the lawsuit. Do you know if any damages were awarded? .

I wish you well and don’t wish to intimidate you so I won’t be posting on your page any more. God bless.

From what this case provides via trial in the superior court of Los Angeles it is clear the care given Amy did not include any methods to reduce relapse, zero therapy or counseling, no transfer to legitimate medical professionals after relapsing in this case 11 times in 8 months, movement between 7 houses and local motels for what purpose, failure to assure safety due to the provision of actual street drugs via sober Companions (not credentialed but often still using), and Boyd per a deposition. Amy and the mother are given blame when Amy was actually under what contractually was Boyd’s program, a man certified as an auto mechanic and states he gained his experience by reading a book and attending AA / NA in prison. This is indeed negligence, and how the court allowed evidence gross negligence would have come in to an option for the jury. Instead, the assumptions shown by one individual and the speculation by another is the reason the outcome stopped at negligence. The unlicensed detoxing, the lack of medical management, the management of prescription meds and potentially other drugs are causal effects. Emails, videos, and other evidence were also not allowed in the trial. The jury was given questions not reflecting wrongful death which is the basis of this case.

For Boyd learning his skills through Narcotics Anonymous it is clear he is lacking in quite a number of foundational standards and treatment modalities as in a is simply an organization for people using to connect with each other. Sadly, this also includes the sale of drugs at the door, people with charges forced to attend by judges walking in getting a signature in leaving, and no oversight at all. The worldwide director confirms there is no safety procedures and often just like sober companions the sponsors engage in activities with people that is detrimental to trying to recover, and often includes inappropriate situations. These inappropriate actions, These inappropriate actions, a person like Boyd did gain from Narcotics Anonymous.

confidential- thanks for you post- yes – I would agree that much was left out. However, what I heard in court was enough for me to find him at fault. I was not on the jury so – – I didn’t have a say in it . it was sad to hear this outcome – but there was still some fault which is “Negligence”.

I’ve been following this case since I hear Carrie Fisher was involved, then after reading the HR article I just realize the crooky job this guy has been doing across his not licensed “career” So, criminals came out of prison to screw the society from inside, taking advantage of naive parents able of anything to help their love ones in need of professional help using garbage people like Courtney Love to attract victims. They wanted to screw Britney Spears but her dad was smarter than the crooky Boyd and his partner Mel Gibson, taking Britney away from Boyd’s hands, Good move.
Mrs. Breliant couldn’t do it because she trusted that crook called Dr. Marmer and once Boyd put his hands on Amy, Mrs. Breliant couldn’t see her daughter again, Wow!!!
Every time she wanted to take Amy home, Mr. “extreme interventionist” invented: …She ran away!!! I need money to find her because she’ll die.
Amy was placed in a hotel, she never ran away. That was Boyd’s MO to keep the grip on Mrs. Breliant taking advantage of her desperation.
I must say, Boyd is a big criminal mind delinquent. He will pay for what he’s been doing to innocent in need.

Totally agree, very accurate indeed, the important evidence was not allowed to be presented.
I must say the judge wasn’t fair and her attitude was protective for the defendants giving Boyd a slap on his wrist, after 7 months abusing Amy Breliant.
I was present at the trial for 4 days and I realized how the judge gave rise to the objections of the defense lawyers while I saw the face of Mrs. Breliant when the judge did not allow the truth to be revealed, while the defenders make bad jokes about Mrs. Breliant’s lawyer.
In my opinion that trial was fixed. It was noticeable to leagues.

Oh I thought that too, when the Defense Lawyer Baker made fun of Bunch and so did Schmidt’s lawyer the Judge should have reprimanded them. When she didn’t I felt that was odd.

What about Corey Monteith? I was told that Robert Downy Jr was not helped by him – that RDJ after years of rehabs and AA he did Ayuaska.
It will be interesting to see what happens with all this. I do think the Judge did a strange flip halfway through the trial. SHe seemed so strong and unbiased – at first. Boyd Laughed like a middle schooler when an eye witness talked about him giving her drugs. But the Jury was facing the TV so they Missed it . It was very telling and rude.

Although, there is an admission on stand the Hollywood rubber-stamp company is a distribution center for human, drug, and weapons trafficking, plaintiff was not allowed to include the Secret Service agents and LAPD officers eye witness acvounts5 *at* the raid (while Amy was held at the Hollywood rubber stamp) instead the defense was able to cover this up with the assistance of the judge. It would prove interesting if the jury could have heard the agents, and the LAPD, describing the situation of people held at this location, and how devastating it was to see the conditions and hear a girl more fearful of her captor then of men coming in wearing riot gear with machine guns. If only, the court allowed the the private medical examiner, the Mental Health Board of LA, and CA Medical Board on practicing without a license but alas not allowed. Then, as the private investigator states in his depo; his “rushing in to remove Amy” (from HRSC) left there by her care provider (Not allowed), shows a business of terrifying a mom with missing daughter told “You will find Amy dead” if you call police. If only the courts would allow the video of another victim identifying Boyd at the rubber stamp company, the trafficking, the videos, and book showing “it may appear unethical and illegal; but LAPD turns a blind eye”.

IF ONLY…. instead of as Nancy from the Los Angeles Justice supervisor’s office States we do not investigate deaths where drugs are on the scene would realize drugs are the convenient weapons of choice these days there is no investigation and it makes it much easier then we would see a lot more changes in what the outcome is on many of these cases. In the case of the video above, after an error in the initial autopsy the chief medical examiner changed the autopsy back to undetermined because they people on the same line to the police and to the coroner’s office, in a review of the toxicology proves not an overdose and not heavily intoxicated. For people who drugs are used as a means of control places like Narcotics Anonymous they all them because they are not supporting how they got on drugs or how to remove themselves from this evil but simply thank you for sharing.
